Care homes & dementia
Sensory and reminiscence rooms your residents, families and inspectors will value.
Independent, costed design for calming, reminiscence and engagement spaces. You see the finished room before you build it, and you receive a supplier-neutral specification you can fund and build with anyone.
Three ways we design for care settings
Most care-home rooms need to do more than one job. We design the balance your residents need.
Reminiscence & dementia
Familiar, calming spaces that support meaningful activity and orientation, designed around dementia best practice.
Calming & de-escalation
Low-arousal rooms that help residents who are distressed or agitated settle safely.
Active & engagement
Gently stimulating spaces that encourage interaction, movement and connection.
What a sensory room does in a care home
A sensory or multi-sensory room is a dedicated space that uses light, sound, texture and familiar objects to calm, comfort or gently engage residents. In dementia care, reminiscence and low-arousal design can support orientation, reduce distress and create moments of genuine connection. The room only works when it is designed around your residents and the way your staff will use it, which is exactly what an independent design gives you.
Independent by design
Because we design only and sell no equipment, the specification is supplier-neutral. It is written around your residents and your setting, and it is yours to fund, tender and build with whoever you choose.
Funders give more weight to a specification whose author does not also sell or install the room. Because we design only, ours is independent, which is exactly what helps release a budget and keeps your spend competitive.

Your questions, answered
Will a sensory room actually be used, or sit empty?
The room is designed around your residents and your care plans, with calming, reminiscence and engagement zones staff can use day to day. We design for genuine use, not for show.
Is it safe and easy to clean?
Yes. The layout is designed for residents with limited mobility, for infection control and for safe supervision, with cleanable, robust specifications throughout.
Can it support our CQC evidence?
Yes. A costed, considered design supports your premises-adaptation evidence and your daily meaningful-activity records. We provide a clear specification and presentation deck for exactly this.
Do we have to buy from you?
No. We sell no equipment. The specification is supplier-neutral, so you buy each element from whichever supplier you choose, at the best price.
How is the design costed?
Every element is itemised with quantities and clear descriptions, so you have a complete, costed schedule for your budget or a grant application.
Funding a care-home sensory room
Care settings draw on capital budgets, dementia and disability grants and local trusts. Every route needs a credible, costed specification, which is what we provide.
